Under the leadership of Muhammad Bashir, the values of hard work, loyalty, and exceptional customer service were instilled in the company, principles that continue to guide us today.
As the family business expanded, more siblings joined, and the company moved from its original premises on New Road to a larger multi-story facility on Commercial Street. Here, we took pride in manufacturing our garments on-site, ensuring the highest quality and personalized service, creating local jobs, and strengthening our community.
Recognizing the potential for growth, we ventured into import and export, eventually moving operations to the iconic Bashir House on Brick Lane, which housed manufacturing and a retail and wholesale showroom.
Continuing the Legacy
Today, the third generation, represented by Kashif and Asif, have joined the business, bringing with them extensive experience in organizational development and successful careers in the UK and abroad. They are dedicated to continuing the legacy of quality and service that our family has built over nearly five decades.
As one of the few remaining UK-based family businesses in the leather trade, Bashir & Sons remains true to its East London roots. Our long-standing customer relationships, many spanning decades, testify to our reputation for excellence. We are proud to carry forward our family’s heritage, crafting high-quality leather garments that stand the test of time.
